spa Event 2010 - Jeremy Cowart

We have been asked repeated by past spa Event attendees and current spa Members for a fashion/editorial/commercial photographer to take part in spa Event. We are proud and excited to offer the rare opportunity to see Jeremy Cowart at spa Event 2010.

 

Jeremy Cowart has had a meteoric rise in the commercial music and celebrity photography businesses since he decided to change from his first career as a graphic designer and shot one of his initial assignments with Sting in 2005. Jeremy will be sharing his creative thought process on various photography assignments as well as the direction he feels photography is and should be going in the world today.

By looking at Cowart's impressive line-up of work and even his bio image, you create a very different persona than who Jeremy really is - a humble, even self-deprecating, insightful, man of faith. Although he has photographed some of the top celebrities in the world today including serving as Britney Spears' official tour photographer for her most recent world tour, Circus, Jeremy Cowart has also worked extensively for the Passion World Tour and will be launching a national philanthropic photography movement called Help-Portrait this holiday season.

  

In April, 2005 Jeremy switched from doing graphic design to full-time photography. He specializes in Entertainment, Travel, Reportage and Portrait Photography. In the that time Jeremy has traveled to 6 Continents, published a photography book with the 2nd to release Spring 2009 and has gained entertainment clients such as ABC, E! Fox, A& E, FX, The Style Network, ABC, CMT, Sony BMG, EMI, Capitol Records, Island Def Jam, Interscope, Warner Brothers Records, Paste Magazine and Vibe.

2010 spa Model Entries posted!

All of the 2010 spa Model entries have been posted to the spa Model site! With over 470 entries this is our largest group of entries ever. Check back to the site for updated information and a link to a new spa Models Facebook fan page. All of the finalists and winners will be announced by mid-November - we look forward to seeing who will move on.

spa Event 2010 - VOYAGE

 
 

VOYAGE: A long journey to a foreign or distant place, especially by sea.

Whatever our reason may be, we all "voyage".  It is part of living life.

Coronado Island in California was discovered by voyagers searching for a new world, for new answers to life. 

Mythical sirens or mermaids of old are said to have guided these explorers on their way to either destruction or safe harbor.

VOYAGE: The events of a journey of exploration or discovery. 

Today, our voyage is no different than theirs - a voyage with a destination.

In 2009, we live in a time of recession, of fear and of change.  Some react by hiding away, while others just bear it and hope for an end. But we choose to view it as an exciting time of exploration and discovery while voyaging to a new world created by challenging social, economic and technological changes. 

We can find our way, not by the sirens of old, but by learning new skills and techniques, reinventing the old, fellowshipping with those on the same voyage and together finding a safe and prosperous place to land in this new world.  The old is merged into the new and we find a new island, a new life, a newly successful senior portrait business.

VOYAGE: Starting a journey from one place going to a destination in another place.

spa Event 2010 - Larry Peters

 
 

spa Event 2010 will be featuring who some would say is the father of modern senior photography - Larry Peters. You can see his influence on the posing, lighting, backgrounds, sales and marketing in senior studios all over the country. 

We are so excited to have Larry at spa Event 2010 because he has been consistently on the leading edge of senior portrait world for the past 23 years, and has been through several huge changes in senior photography. We are looking forward to hearing his advise in how to navigate into new territory while continuing to have a thriving senior business.  

Be at spa Event 2010 so that Larry can help give you direction and inspiration during a time of uncertainty and change in the economic and social dynamics of our world.    

  

Here's some more info about Larry and his studio:

After teaching high school and spending six years in a family run business, Larry Peters and his wife, Karen, launched Main Street Photogaphy out of their home. This business grew overnight and went from photographing 200 high school seniors on a part-time basis to 750 seniors the very next year. Peters decided that his photography was going to look different from other area photographers and began developing props, sets and launched different marketing ideas. These same principles have been used over the last 23 years. The business has grown to three studios in Central Ohio with 24 employees and gross sales of over 2 million per year. He also implemented never-before-used direct mail, the 12 hour sale and new sales techniques and packages. He holds a Photography Masters, Photographic Craftsman and Master of Electronic Imaging.
