spa Model 2008 update

It's always cool to see what the spa Models go on to do both in the fashion world and in life in general. Lisa S. was from Tina Slusser-Ley Photography in Canton, Ohio.

She was chosen for the 2nd year to be in the Cool Book, which is a prom book that retailers choose to be in. This is what Lisa's mom said about it and the experience of being a spa Model -

"Oh, one last thing—I know that the SPA people love to see their models make it in the real world so I wanted to share that Lisa looks absolutely SPECTACULAR in the 2009 Cool Book.  Henri’s Cloud Nine hired her last summer and they sent her to New York City for a week and shot the whole thing.  You can see it on the web at www.thecoolbook.com.  There is a great video on the site about the making of the catalog and Lisa is one of the interviewed models.  She got the job in large part because of the terrific photos from you, Brian Killian and others SPA photographers that she used in her portfolio.  What a great experience for an 18 year old!"

Our phones are back - sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you. Technology...you love it and hate it at the same time.

There is still a little time left to be a part of the scholarship give-away. No catch...just have to be a member (or be willing to become a member) and have the funds/resources to get yourself to Vegas and stay for a few days.

T-shirt fun!

We're having a cool contest. Use the attached file of this bland t-shirt to design for us your perfect spa Event 2009 shirt (think cool concert T).

We will post all of our entries on the spa Talk forum, create a poll and the highest scoring entry will be made into one of our t-shirts at spa Event. Winner will receive $100 spa Bucks (good to use toward any spa purchase) and of course a couple of their winning entry.

spa Member published (again)

If you take the magazine Guideposts, you may have seen in the latest issue an article on a high school football coach in a little Iowa town that was devastated by a natural disaster.

The images of the coach (as you will see) was done by spa Member Dan Brouillette. Dan has been doing a little bit of editorial work on the side (along with quite a few seniors). He was published in ESPN the Magazine earlier this year, and now this.

Pro4um Member?

Are you a member of the Pro4uM? If not, you really should check it. If you've been thinking about joining the Pro4um, spa is going to have an incredible reason to be a part of it during the week of December 1st. I can't tell you too much right now, but it includes a never offered before spa Membership special, and spa Event special that will blow your mind.

Kirk Voclain, the owner/webmaster of the Pro4um is one of our keynote speakers (speaking on Sunday, January 4th) and is one that you don't want to miss. His ability to tell and story and convey some great info on the senior business will have you asking for more when he's done.

Sweet Jeans

We just got in some jeans (for men) for the spa Boutique. We ordered them at our buying trip in August, and it was one of my most exciting. 

Farmer Jeans is a small boutique jean line that is only a few years old. We are really happy to offer them at spa Event. Here are the two different styles that we will have:

 

Not only will we be offering these jeans, but one of their designers has designed a bag for us that we will be giving to every spa Event attendee! Here's a quick mock-up.

Free stuff email!

If you have registered for spa Event 2009, you should have gotten an email this morning that allows you to register for a spa Family Circle and download your free actions, templates and inspirations! 

Here are the dates for 2009 Family Circles. 

• March 9-10
• April 14-15
• May 11-12
• June 9-10
• September 14-15   

Don't forget - these special 2 day classes held at the spa Offices are free if you have already registered for spa Event 2009. They will be limited to 25 studios (2 people max from each studio - so you can do the math...50 people is the most we will have at one class), and will feature both antisdel.s photography and other guest speakers. 

 

The free actions, templates, and inspirations are a collection of items we use in our studio or picture shows that have inspired us throughout 2008. They will be available for sale at the first of December (go toshop.spartists.com to find them) if you didn't register for spa Event before the November 19 deadline.
